Our annual credit union art competition was in its 35th year in 2018 and we had over 300 entries from individuals and the Primary Schools in our Common Bond.
The theme was The Force of Nature and the Judges were impressed by the standard, it was very high and the entrants made the decision a lot harder for them. In picking our winning entries the judges balanced the artwork as well as how well it fit in with the brief ‘Force of Nature’.
Starting with the Age 7 years and under we have
1st Niamh Kehoe, Clongeen NS
2nd Cathal Cullen, Clongeen NS
3rd Sarah Quigley, Oylegate NS
Next is the 8-10 Years
1st Molly Byrne, St. Colmans, Ballindaggin
2nd Adam Phylan, Caim NS
3rd Emma Reville, Clongeen NS
11-13 Year Category we have
1st Emily Deacon, St.Mary’s NS
2nd Niall Byrne, Oylegate NS
3rd Sarah Phylan, Caim NS
SPECIAL CATEGORY ADULT we have only 1 prize to give away – to Jim Byrne of Bree – this is a hat-trick for Jim, this is his 3rd year in a row winning a prize.
Congratulations to all our winners they did a fabulous job. Our winners were put forward to our Regional Competition and we are thrilled to announce that Molly Byrne came 2nd in the 8-10 years category, so very well done Molly.
We will be launching the competition for 2019 in September so keep an eye out for that!
